Located in the heart of the Pfalz in the village of Duttweiler the vineyards sit quietly amongst the deep rich clay (losses) soils and the grainy loaming sandy soils allowing an opportunity to cultivate a number of differing traditional and non traditional varietals.
14 days open mash fermentation, full malolatic fermentation in barriques this is truley avantegarde wine making at its best. A truely artisnal Pinot Noir this is like nothing that you have ever experienced before, the complexity and depth of this wine will change your opinion of Pinot Noir forever. It has a "Hell" of a lot going on that is for sure.
This is a real Pinot Noir drinkers Pinot Noir, put away the Shiraz and get your taste buds around this big styled Pinot Noir. Elegant and refined but no shrinking violet here as this is wine that is both powerful and self contained. You get those great burst of dark chocolate flicks of cassis, leather and a waft of cigar smokiness . The lovely mascerated dark cherries shine through to provide the wine some well deserved finese and finish. Serve between 17 C - 19 C.
