Germany

Germany and German wines are as diverse as they are many. We specialize in wines from the Baden region. Sue Style, a wine writer for Decanter, described the region wines so well. "Baden's most prized wines are its three Pinot 's being Noir, Gris & Blanc or respectively known as Spat, Grau & Weisseburgunder". These wines come from very old, volcanic soils and sit on sun drenched terraces many over looking the Rhine and France especially those found in the Kaisersthul." Here we find the great wines of Joachim Heger/Weingut Heger and the ever-present and very hospitable Marcus Mleinek (chief cellar master). Heading further south towards the Swiss border, just north of Basel, you will find the small village of Efringen-Kirechen and the great wines of Hanspeter Ziereisen. Although Ziereisen’s wines have a very Swiss look and feel, he produces some of the finest German reds of this time. Decanter  this year rated both Weingut Dr. Heger and Weingut Ziereisen in its top six wineries of the region .The Baden region is fast becoming known for its world class and award-wining wines, and the wines from this region have been consistently highly rated by Jancis Robinson and Robert Parker.
