Harvest in Baden Germany in full swing
The German wine harvest is in full swing, reports so far indicate that this year we can expect a wide range of results in both the available tonnage and quality of the grape. The difficult summer has been punctuated by extremes this year with long periods of wet, followed by thunderstorms, heat and winds all of these add up to create a challenging season for many German wine makers in the Baden region but there is great hope for the vintage ahead. Rhone Producers remain calm
The experts have called the current harvest and forth coming vintage in France  a " basket case" but we know that there is a difference between what an expert thinks and what actually happens- as yes sometimes even experts get it wrong.  Inter-Rhône ( the leading wine agency for the Rhone region) is predicting the 2012 harvest to reach 1.5 million hectolitres for the Côtes du Rhône regional appellations and 3m hl for the Rhône Valley. The generic body representing 5..

Frances Smallest harvest in 17 years
This might the year that you look to stock your cellars as whilst volumes may well down i would say what is picked will more than compensate for the lack of greater fruit. We believe that this vintage  is one we will keep an eye on for you as I am sure our wine partners will be able to give us a first hand view of what is happening as Wine production in France, the biggest exporter, may slump 16 percent this year to a four-year low after frost, thunderstorms and an August heat wave ..

Austrian 2012 Vintages are down
Frost and hail caused millions of Euros worth of damage earlier in the year and the AWA’s (Austrian Wine Association)  President, Josef Pleil, stated that the final yield would be between 2 and 2.2 million hectolitres below average. However, the quality of the remaining fruit and vegetation remains high, so hopes for a good harvest appear well founded.   Pleil said: “Where there was no damage by frost or hail, a grape harvest of exceptional quality can be counted on...
